It is not only about football, at least not anymore

Its no longer about football alone.

Real Madrid lost 3-2 on the night and 5-4 on aggregate to eternal rivals Barcelona, ergo the Supercopa de España. Lionel Messi, as always, was the chief architect behind the Catalan success scoring two goals out of almost nothing, the second coming in the dying moments of the game, all this after setting up Andrés Iniesta for the first. Real came twice from behind through Cristiano and Benzema respectively but were unable to grab the third goal that would have turned the tie towards the better team on the night with barely anytime left. The match ended on a bitter note with two of our players sent off in Mesut Özil (who was not on the pitch at the time) and Marcelo (for a tackle on new boy Cesc Fàbregas). David Villa, who too was on the bench, was sent of as well with the game ending in a melee.

José Mourinho decided to field the same line up that lost 5-0 here in La Liga last season but for one change. New signing Coentrão started at left back, replacing Marcelo. Pep Guardiola, meanwhile, made a host of changes to his side as Xavi, Busquets, Pedro and Pique replaced Thiago, Keita, Aléxis Sánchez and Adriano from the first leg, thereby reverting back to his best starting XI available. Cesc Fàbregas was on the bench.  The initial stages of the game saw both teams share equal possession and the ball sticking within 25 yards of either side of the half way line. Neither team was able to break through the opposite defense when Messi sublimely put Andrés Iniesta through on goal 1v1 with Casillas. The midfielder chipped in the ball to give Barça a 1-0 lead. Real now had to score two. But that would change within 5 minutes. Mesut Özil swung in a corner from the right which ultimately fell to Karim Benzema on the far post. The on-song Frenchman squeezed in a ball through a crowded area which was tucked into goal by Cristiano Ronaldo. There were doubts about Ronaldo being offside but replays acquitted him of such claims. It was CR7’s 100th goal for Real Madrid and his first at the Nou Camp. But for the goal and a shot that Valdes could only deflect on to the crossbar, the overall performance of Ronaldo last night was below par. He was trying too hard to flatter the Catalan crowd with his dazzling step overs only to hinder the attack of his own team. Real had the better chances of the game throughout the night but Lionel Messi was more efficient. Just before half time the little Argentine played a clever one-two with the demented Gerard Piqué to beat Iker Casillas yet again and give Barça the lead after 45 minutes of play. Messi was simply sublime last night one has to admit. Every run of his troubled our defense. One other sight which worried me especially was Coentrão’s defensive credibilities. The Portuguese at left-back was totally out of sorts and was found AWOL most of the times. Fortunately, since it was Pedro who played on the right, Barça failed to capitalize.

The second half began in similar fashion with Barça unable to play their normal tiki-taka thanks to the incredible pressure that they were under. Marcelo replaced Khedira and Coentrão moved to midfield alongside Xabi Alonso. Unlike previous encounters Madrid was not rough on them but made sure that the pressure they applied on those Catalans was immense. Xavi of all people stuttered. Piqué, Abidal, Alves were all forced to clear the ball and thus were taken out of possession. Messi hardly saw the ball. Madrid were better than any side that has ever faced this team. Özil almost pegged us level when he was put through with only Valdes to beat. The German tested the keeper but definitely should have done better. I felt there was too little sting in the shot. The game crossed the 80th minute mark. Kaká and Higuaín had come on for Özil and an out-of-sort Angel Di María. It was the Brazilian’s corner that ultimately fell to Karim Benzema through Pepe and Real were back on level terms and the match was going into extra time. Barça panicked. The fans were silent as Cesc Fàbregas came on to make his debut. Just two minutes was left for normal time to end. Fàbregas played Adriano through on the left and his cross was volleyed in by Lionel Messi to hand Barcelona the lead and an inevitable victory. The volley was too good even for someone like St. Iker.

Özil and Villa, both in the picture, were sent off from the bench.

The game ended but match didn’t end there. Marcelo made a completely unnecessary challenge on new boy Cesc which the catalans made too much out of. This invoked the Catalans and finally the inevitable brawl began. Marcelo was sent off but so were Özil, who was completely furious about some incident, and David Villa were sent off. Mourinho too was involved having a go at Tito Villanova in his usually cheeky manner capping off what has been one of the best two legged games that I have ever seen.

This defeat, as sour as it is, definitely is a sign of improvement. We were the better team over two legs and if we had been a little more efficient in front of goal we would have definitely walked out winners. The rivalry between the two sides is turning out be more bitter than ever. Piqué has had a few harsh words to say about José. The latter belittled the Supercopa by calling it a tiny little trophy. Its no longer only about football and that’s what is making this whole affair even more special.

A Three Goal Draw or a Win

Come on you whites!

With the first title of the season at stake and with the odds favoring the opponent, Real Madrid travel to the Nou Camp to face Barcelona in the second leg of the Supercopa knowing that only a win or a high scoring draw is capable of changing its fortune. Despite being the better of the two sides, Real were only able to manage a 2-2 draw earlier this week at the Bernabéu thus handing Barça the advantage of having two away goals.

History though favors Real, who have a 4-0 advantage over Barça in the Supercopa head-to-head tally but all that will mean nothing tonight. In all of the previous 4 encounters Real have always won at home and have won away only once and that coming a couple of decades ago. Also, yet again historically speaking, this Barça side is much superior to any of the other sides that they have had. The odds are definitely well stacked against us. That said, it is emerging victorious from a tight spot like this that marks a champion. At the end of the day we will know how far away we are from becoming the champion ten months later.

A win tonight will definitely do wonders to the confidence of our players. If they can be as promising as they were on Sunday I cannot see why they can’t stop the Barça juggernaut. Attack is the best form of defense they say and more so in this case as Barça’s weakest link is their defense and with their best defender and captain, Carles Puyol, unavailable we can certainly make use of this opportunity to sneak in a goal or two which would definitely turn the tide against the home team. And by scoring first, both the morale of the players as well as the balance of the game would favor us. Whether we decide to park the team bus in front of goal or play without a change in the mentality is up to the manager. Personally, I wouldn’t mind doing the former. To me its all about winning.

Karanka, who attended the pre-match press conference, also concurred with my opinion, saying:

We know a title is at stake and that the first leg score forces us to win. We really want to win in Barcelona, especially after Sunday’s match. We’re only thinking about our game, about the our work and about how we played the other day. We can win the Super Cup if we play like we did in the first leg.

Real Madrid traveled to Barcelona yesterday with 22 men tabbed for duty. Granero, Morata and Tomás Mejías were the inclusions from the side that was picked to play the first leg. I don’t see too many changes in the starting line up from the first leg. Mourinho played his strongest side on Sunday and I don’t think that fact has changed since. Coentrão might just get a start ahead of Di Maria probably but I highly doubt it as Di María is more of an established player on the side. The Portuguese would definitely play a part in the game though. And if all goes well, Morata too would.

Barça on the other hand have decided to not reveal their squad until an hour before the game. Pique, Busquets, Xavi and Pedro are all expected to play the game after missing out on the first leg. Cesc Fàbregas, who finally signed for Barça after a zillion years of speculation, has been training with the squad and might even get to make his debut. The Catalans cite that former Arsenal captain is undefeated against Real Madrid (a club against which he has played only two games in the whole of his career) and that he can’t do anything but dazzle against the Whites. I suspect if he’d make any sort of an impact tonight. Even if he does come on it would just be to show him off to the home crowd. €26 million worth Alexis Sánchez might also feature for the same reason.

As always I will be rooting for a Real Madrid victory tonight. 2-1 to Los Blancos!

Until after the game,

Para Siempre Blanco!

The season so far

This current crop of players are probably the best that we have had in a decade.

The season so far has been fantastic so to speak. Starting in an extremely positive manner, with an undefeated pre-season campaign and a confidence boosting stalemate against Barça, this season has all the indications of becoming the special second season that the special one enjoys no matter which club he manages. Even though a rejuvenated Karim Benzema is the highlight of the season so far, we must also grace the fact that the team seems to be in a much better shape (if that’s even possible) than it was last season.

The Squad

José has made five new additions to the squad that he had at his disposal a year ago by acquiring the signatures of Nuri Sahin, Hamit Altintop, former Castilla player José Callejon, Raphäel Varane and last but not the least Fábio Coentrão with the latter coming at 30 million Euros from Benfica. Pepe and Sergio Ramos signed five year deals keeping them at the club till 2016 and 2017 respectively. Zidane took over from Valdano as the Director of Football. Garay, Adebayor, Drenthe, Pedro León, Lass and Gago were seen as excess baggage by the newly appointed Sporting Manager of Football, José Mourinho. Garay left to Benfica, Adebayor went back to Manchester City. Mateos and Canales were loaned out to Zaragoza and Valencia respectively. Jerzy Dudek too is no longer a part of the first team following his retirement from football at the end of last season. Mourinho’s new designation saw him gain complete authority over who comes and who goes from the squad following Jorge Valdano’s departure last season. Mourinho’s authority extended over affairs of the youth team as well with the highly talented Pablo Sarabia loaned out to our neighbors Getafe in order to gain exposure to La Liga. Jesé, Joselu, Jesus, Nacho, Casado, Tomas Mejias all accompanied the first team players throughout the pre-season campaign and Antonio Adan as promoted to the first team where he will serve as St.Iker’s deputy. Notable absentees from Castilla were Morata and Sarabia who both were out representing Spain in the UEFA U-19 European Championship. They both made significant contributions to the side, with Sarabia captaining it and Morata being the top scorer of the tournament, and thus helping Spain regain the trophy that they had lost to France last year. Sahin and Altintop though were injured throughout the pre-season and still are and thus have to wait till they make their bow for us Blancos.

Pre-season

José Mourinho’s second season at Real Madrid, following a victorious Copa Del Rey campaign and a relatively less successful La Liga and Champions  League campaigns, kicked off in style in the city of Los Angeles just like last season. The Whites would play the World Football Challenge which included games against David Beckham’s LA Galaxy,  the Mexican side Chivas Guadalajara and Philadelphia Union before leaving the US of A. Following that would be trips to Germany, England and as far as China before returning to Spain for the Supercopa clash against our dearest Catalan rivals – FC Barcelona – in a two legged affair. Also, Galatasaray had agreed to play this year’s edition of the Santiago Bernabeu trophy.

Karim Benzema dropped 7 kilos, scored 8 goals and provided 4 assists in the magnificent pre-season that he had.

The first game of the pre-season was against the Lost Angeles Galaxy at the Home Depot Center and like last season we emerged victorious with an even better result compared to the 3-2 win a year ago. A goal from the debutant Callejón, Castilla’s Joselu, the ever-scoring Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema made Galaxy’s only goal just a consolation, thereby sealing a 4-1 victory. Callejón, Coentrão and of course Benzema all impressed in a game that saw Real dominate their opponent as expected. The French striker had finally started impressing the manager with the boss himself saying that Benzema was finally the striker he wants him to be. Followed by that good showing was a game against the Mexican side Guadalajara that saw our best player show us and the Mexicans why he is what he is. Cristiano Ronaldo scored a magnificent second half hat-trick to help Real notch its second win in as many games in the pre-season. Real Madrid 3 Chivas 0 read the final score. The final game on American soil would be the toughest. Real struggled to beat Philadelphia Union 2-1 thanks to early goals from Ozil and Callejon in the first half. Ultimately, Real Madrid topped the table of the World Football Challenge on goal difference. A win is a win they say.

Real then returned to Spain only to leave to Berlin, Germany where they would play Hertha in what would be yet another friendly. Despite going down to the home team by a goal a Karim Benzema inspired Real came out victors 3-1. The best goal of the game came from a trademark Cristiano Ronaldo free-kick. Benzema’s performance though was the biggest gain for us considering the fact that the first team has only two #9s in the side.

Next up was a game against Sven Goran Erikkson’s Leicester City, a game that apparently won us 1.5 million euros. The English crowd was as hostile as ever and, I better get used to saying this, yet again it was Karim Benzema who saved us the blushes with a goal and an assist to overcome them in a hard fought 2-1 win. Higuain was back for the game and Di Maria would join us in our trip to Asia.

China was our next destination. Guangzhou Evergrande and Tianjin Teda were our respective opponents in the two friendlies that the Whites would play there. Generally teams have known to struggle against Asian opponents on Asian soil as the conditions were hard and the opponents are perfectly used to playing in such surfaces and climates. But that was not the case here as the games turned out to be cakewalks. The former lost 7-1 whereas the latter lost by the same margin except that they couldn’t beat our defense with the game ending 6-0 and the pre-season ending in emphatic fashion. Los Blancos would return to Madrid to get the new season up and running.

Transfer speculations

Transfer speculations are never too far off from Real Madrid and this window was no different. Real were linked with several top strikers in the world none more so than Kun Agüero who had announced that he would leave Atletico for better football and a better future. Adebayor too was touted to return on a permanent deal with the special one himself admitting that a deal was possible. But Mourinho was quick to quash all rumors as soon as he was sure that Benzema would carry the burden of the striker role along with the ever-reliable Pipita. Real had bought all their signings very early in order to get things set by the time pre-season had started. Apparently, Mourinho wanted two quality players for every position on the field and once that was accomplished all that Florentino Perez had to do was close his cheque book. Gago, Lass and Pedro León are yet to be sold or sent out on loan.

I personally thought we would go on to buy a striker but then again with Benzema, Higuaín, Ronaldo and Callejón we have enough goals from the first team alone part from the ones that the likes of Jesé, Joselu and Morata could provide. I will not say that I am entirely happy with the composition of the squad. We do seem to be a quality striker shy of a great squad, but its Mourinho who calls the shots. If he is happy, then I am happy. I am happy.

Supercopa – first leg

And then the season started. What better way to get started than getting a go at a couple of Clasicós one would say but then I do not agree and Mourinho doesn’t either. The intensity of a clasicó is too much to have right at the beginning of the season when players are just getting ready to play and might be vulnerable to a niggle. But what has to happen, has to happen. The first game of the season actual, was the first leg against Barça at the Bernabéu against Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona. It was the fifth clasicó of 2011 with the teams sharing a couple of draws and a win apiece. Real Madrid played their strongest line up with Casillas between the sticks, Sergio Ramos, Pepe, Carvalho and Marcelo playing at the back behind Alonso and Khedira. The front four consisted of Ronaldo, Ozil, Di Maria and Karim Benzema. Barça were without the services of Puyol while Pique, Busquets, Pedro and Xavi were relegated to the bench. €26 million signing Aléxis Sanchéz won a place in the starting line up along with Messi and Villa. New sensation Thiago Alcantâra along with Iniesta and Keita made up the midfield while Alves, Mascherano, Abidal, Adriano and Valdés made up the rest of the line up. Özil opened the scoring for us in a half that saw us dominate Barça more than any other team has done in the past three years. Signs were good for us when Barça leveled through an extraordinary goal from David Villa which would have defeated any goalkeeper in the world. Barça’s luck continued when Messi made the best out of Khedira’s unlucky touch which led to a 2-1 scoreline in favor of Barça at the stroke of half-time. This didn’t deter us and we came out as strong as we had done in the first half and continued to dominate the game and we deservedly pegged back level when Xabi Alonso’s drive from the edge of the box beat Valdés after fifty three minutes. Guardiola was made to make changes with both Pique and Xavi coming in despite not being completely fit. Benzema, yet again, proved inspirational by not only setting up Özil for the first goal and but also by keeping a check on Barça’s defense continuously throughout the game. The scoreline does not reflect the way the game was played and Real have a lot of work to do still as we travel to Camp Nou for the second leg. All signs indicate a positive result for Real but with Clásicós you never know.

Until next time,

Guardiola over Preciado any day

Manolo you're a brat!

Pep Guardiola might have inflicted upon us Madridistas one of our worst memories of recent times but he sure gets the nod ahead of Manuel Preciado in my books. You must understand that it is not easy for me to say something that is appreciative of a cule but considering the recent war of words going on between Jose Mourinho and Preciado, I will have to say that Sporting have gone into my I-hate list right below Barcelona and the ever-harmless Atletico.

Even though the fact that I am bringing in Guardiola into the picture might seem as irrelevant as Borja Valero claiming that his past with Real will not affect him from joining Barcelona I must tell you that it is not the case. This battle between Jose and Manolo began when Sporting played Barca a few weeks back at the Camp Nou and fielded a weakened side in a 1-0 loss to the Catalans. And considering the fact Barca were handed an easy victory and Real had to fight their way for three points, Jose insisted that Sporting gave up the match even before kick-off by fielding the side that they did. And that triggered it all. Preciado denied Jose’s claims back then and prior to the game when the press re-ignited it all he went over board saying that he is not fond of Jose and that the special one is a villain and even more so a bad companion. He even threatened that if it were in his hands he would place Jose right besides Sporting’s radical fans  considering the fact that Mourinho will be watching the game somewhere from the stands after the RFEF touch-line banned our manager for two domestic games following his expulsion in the King’s Cup game midweek. The governing body of Spanish football said that Mourinho was booked for formulating observations about the referee and he has been suspended for addressing the referee with disrespectful vocabulary as per Article 117. There is one thing that I don’t understand here. If what Jose said about the referee against Murcia was disrespectful I am not sure what you would call whatever Preciado has had to say about Jose. If you ask me Preciado too should be handed either a fine or a ban for making such instigating statements prior to a game.

Even though the whole of the world is waiting for Jose to react we will have to wait for that to happen has Real canceled the customary pre-match presser following the off-the-field battle between the two teams and decided to make peace with the opponents by issuing a formal statement on the club’s website. The club also condemned Preciado’s behavior. And all this makes this an even more feisty affair than it already is. It is very clear that the reception will be hostile and maybe even the players would a tad or two harsh on tackles and it is up to our men to stand up to them and make our manager proud. Last time out they parked a bus in front of their goal to stop us from scoring and this time around it will probably be the same considering the form that we are in. I am expecting at least a couple of red cards from the game.

In other news, Zinedine Zidane will be playing an even more vital role with the club after he was appointed as the presidential advisor to the first team. Apparently his task is to “assist in optimising first team working conditions.”A statement on the club’s official website read as follows:

Zidane will be readily available to the president and coach for all matters concerning Real Madrid’s first team, with whom he will keep in frequent contact. The former player will participate in Champions League events and functions. He will also travel with the team on a regular basis for said competition and will participate in the pre-match gatherings, training sessions and meetings with the head coach.

Forgive me for this abstract post but that is all that I could muster as I thought transfer rumors linking Diego Forlan to us and Karim Benzema to Juve are far more boring than what I had for you today.

Until next time,

Para Siempre Blanco!

Issues

Jose Mourinho

Discussing issues with the man himself

When you are a fan of a club that is managed by Jose Mourinho you hardly run out of things to talk about. And right now I do have enough on my hands to put forward whatever I have in mind. Then again, more than what’s in my mind whatever Jose Mourinho says is always more interesting. But what the hell, this is my blog; I say what I want to say. So I guess the best solution is to combine the two. What I will be doing here is, well, why don’t you find it out yourself?

The first issue that Jose and I would be discussing would be about missing out on signing another striker for the squad. Real Madrid currently has exactly two strikers in Gonzalo Higuain and Karim Benzema and a pseudo striker in Crisitiano Ronaldo. I wanted us to sign another striker, not exactly a star, but someone who could play whenever needed and score the occasional goal or two given a chance. Even though Drogba, Dzeko, Tevez et al. wouldn’t fit my bill, someone like Negredo or Llorente would definitely have. All that we needed was back up.

Mourinho does not differ with me in his opinion about signing another striker. He admitted that Real missed out signing another striker but then said that being Real Madrid making deals are not that easy.

I wanted another striker; Higuain and Benzema are not enough. Transfer dealings are not easy with Real, if you move a finger a storm breaks out.

That’s that and we shall move on. And since we are talking about new signings, the best place to go would be the issue surrounding Ozil and Khedira and the rumors that they are not comfortable at all in Madrid. Reports emanating from Madrid say that Khedira and Ozil are finding it real hard to adapt to life in Madrid as they know zero Spanish and there aren’t many German speaking staff at Real. Some say that it was a mistake from Real to have gone and bought the two German youngsters. Well, I don’t think so. What about you Jose?

These two are good players, young, and they were in the last year of their contracts. We paid €25million (£20.7m) (for the pair), that’s a competitive price.

Ha!

Next on the agenda, is the game at Mallorca. It was definitely not the brightest of starts. Real lacked almost everything. No class, no coordination. And that in turn has caused a lot of pressure – both on the club and on Mourinho. Unfair pressure I would say. Guardiola too started off with a loss – that too at Numancia. They wrote him off then. But look at what he is capable of now. Let’s see what Jose has to say about the pressure he is facing.

This is Madrid and you can’t change it. If you can’t live with this pressure its best not to accept the job.

At this stage of my career it was the best time for such an experience. After Chelsea and Inter Milan, after 10 years of success and big clubs, after a demanding league such as Italy, I have the right age and maturity. I have to be prepared tactically for the possibility that we lose the ball and we get jeered. And then find some solutions to open up closed defenses.

And since I brought Pep into the topic, I shall go ahead and talk about the cunts for the first time this season. Did I say cunts? I meant the cules. Anyhoo, after going two seasons without a win against my favorite enemy FC Barcelona, I cannot wait to do something about it. Kidnap Messi maybe? Well, Jose has other, far better ideas.

It is possible to neutralize Barcelona by imposing your own style. In order to defeat them you have to feel no fear and fight them in midfield.

So what’s that style going to be? You played Samuel Eto’o at left back the last time you played them. What are you gonna do this time around Jose? Play Ronaldo as a center half? And what about going beyond 2-0 in your matches?

My Real Madrid will try to win every game and will always take risks. No one should doubt that. My Real Madrid will not be afraid to lose. My Chelsea scored more goals than any other team in Premiership history until last year, which saw Chelsea breaking their own record. We also won more consecutive games than anyone else.

If we are gonna score as many goals as Chelsea did last season then there is one man in our team who probably would have a vital hand in helping us achieve it. No, I am not talking about the new and revitalized Karim Benzema. I am in fact talking about CR7. But then again, seeing him against Mallorca, I too like the rest, felt that he was a bit out of sorts. He looked tamed and very restricted somewhat – as though he had lost the independence Pellegrini had given him. What say Jose?

Cristiano Ronaldo’s football upringing is British. He respects fair play. He has nothing to prove to me in a game because he shows me what he is capable of during each training session at Valdebebas. More or less goals will never make me doubt his quality because it is unquestionable. He may look too anxious, but I just think he is extremely high spirited during each game.

Alright then, the Champions League now and more importantly AC Milan; Ibrhimo-bitch and Robin-whore have both combined to make AC Milan look even more similar to a brothel than Berlusconi already did. They do look threatening, don’t they? The front four of Ronaldinho, Pato, Robinho and Ibrahimovic combined with the cheap-fucks like Gattuso, Nesta and Ambrosini along with a few normal players like Pirlo and Seedorf – well they do provide us with a mix. What do you think of them?

With Ibrahimovic and Robinho, this is another Milan. Robinho and Ibrahimovic are among the best in the world. Certainly Milan is much stronger than it was a year ago. The Rossoneri are among the teams that can win the Champions League.

I no concur. They suck even more this season. They now have a bunch of heavy headed whoremongers who are ineffective unless they are shown a lot of green. But considering that Berlusconi spends most of his green on Viagra and whorehouses I guess Milan would continue to be a pack of cunts that they were. Do you miss kicking their butts? What about this Allegri dude? Bah, I care not.

OK. Now the other side of Milan and first and foremost – what the hell is going on between you and Moratti?

I do speak to [Inter Milan president Massimo] Moratti every week. We are friends. He is part of my history just as I’m part of his.

Whatever dude. Now that fat Rafa is their incharge, what are your hopes for them? Avoid relegation perhaps?

I hope with all my heart that Inter wins the Scudetto, the Coppa Italia and the FIFA Club World Cup, but not the Champions League. But I am a professional and when I end a chapter, I end it without regrets.

Thank you Mr.Mourinho. It has been a pleasure talking to you.

And before I round off this post a little more on what I had touched upon earlier in the post – Sami Khedira’s life at Real. I would be lying if I write here that Khedira is having good fun out there away from Momma Khedira. He is finding it tough but what’s good about it is the fact that he knows that is how it will be and he has to fight with it if wants to play for Real Madrid. He admitted that whatever is happening here is very foreign indeed to him but that he and his compatriot Ozil are coping with it.

Everything must be perfect. Definitely, the first few weeks are not easy. When you get to a new country and do not speak the language and your team is criticized by the media in the first game, you wonder what you have let yourself in for.

You have to be extremely strong to bear it, but for me it was clear from the beginning that if you go to Real Madrid, you have to contend with the highest of standards.

The way Real Madrid play is completely new to me. I can’t change the way I have been playing for almost twenty years in just three weeks. However, I know I am doing well and improving.

His other issue was the language. The German admitted that his coworkers are helping him out.

What’s most remarkable is that the team is packed with international stars but there is still a down-to-earth atmosphere. Cristiano Ronaldo has already given me advice. Xabi Alonso speaks perfect English. Diarra, who is my main competitor for a place in the midfield, has already told me about the nature of the game in Spain.

My Spanish is getting better. After the match with my national team, I will take three Spanish lessons a week. If you play for the best club, everything has to be perfect. I am fully aware of this fact and so is Mesut Ozil.

Until later,

Para Siempre Blanco!

Villa signs for Barcelona: Where does that leave us?

Barcelona have signed Valencia’s David Villa in the first major transfer of the summer. The Spain striker has cost the Catalan club £34.2 million and will move to the Nou Camp after months of speculation over his future.

David Villa Presentation at FC Barcelona

Text messages after text messages, calls after calls. Barcelona have a number 7. Barcelona no longer depend only on Lionel Messi. Barcelona have brought back the Spanish equivalent of Samuel Eto’o. They will be invincible yet again. But to me all that doesn’t matter. David Villa moving to Camp Nou affects me in no way. He wants to be a cunt he can be a cunt.

The only thing that mattered to me was the fact that La Liga from virtually being a two horse race has literally become a two horse race. It took me a whole two days to digest the fact that Barcelona have just sucked the life out of probably the only other club which probably would have stepped up to fight against the top two clubs in the country if they had just that one other world class player. David Villa was the talisman of Valencia and without him they sucked. It is as simple as that. There are players like Silva, Mata, Pablo, Banega etc. but they all served as auxiliary to Villa. They played second fiddle to him and now it will remain to be a two horse race in Spain until some Saudi tycoon decides to invest in Spain.

And now I hear that David Silva will be snared by Real Madrid.

God save La Liga!

Para Siempre Blanco!

Hala Madrid!!

Congratulations FC Barcelona

So Barcelona have pipped us to the title, yet again. We needed a win away at Malaga and for them to lose against Valladolid at home. They just had to win to secure the title. We managed a draw and they thrashed Valladolid. So deserved winners we must admit. We end our season with 96 points and the future of Manuel Pellegrini looks bleak. There will be repercussions. Let us hope it is only for the good.

He did it all for them.

Inter Milan and Bayern Munich will face off in the Champions League final in Madrid  at the Bernabeu in a few days time. I am vying for an Inter Milan win.

Para Siempre Blanco!

Hala Madrid!!

Post-match comments

Jorge Valdano refused to concede defeat to Barcelona in the Liga despite the Blaugrana’s win. Joan Laporta was in high spirits. Manuel Pellegrini was disappointed with his team’s defeat, but believes the league is far from over as there are still 21 points in play. Pep Guardiola admitted that it was not a dazzling victory, but one that needed a lot of courage and heart. The Real Madrid squad is “frustrated and hurt” for losing to Barcelona at the Bernabeu, but all the players believe the title can still be won. Messi said that beating Real was the first step to win the title. Andres Iniesta has issued a message of caution to his colleagues after Barcelona defeated Real Madrid, insisting that there are seven vital fixtures to go before the title is theirs. Goalscorer Pedro also discussed his satisfaction at the win, and his joy at netting the decisive second goal that extinguished Real Madrid’s hopes of victory, but was equally as cautious as his teammate, Iniesta.

Valdano:

We need to keep calm. We have to deal with the seven remaining games, and fight until the end. Seven games ago, Barcelona were five points ahead of us and we were able to cut that down. Now we hope to have a second chance.

The support are upset. Once again they got behind the team and I must thank them. I can’t speak ill of the team either, because they battled right until the end.

Laporta:

The important thing was to play the match as we did and take all three points. It was a very tough game but the team worked hard. We dedicate this to all the Barcelonistas throughout the world as we know that this is now a global game. We can’t think about the League Title now. We must be cautious and respectful, as we have been.

Pellegrini:

We lost the ball many times and were defeated by a team that is currently better than us. There are still 21 points in play and Real Madrid is not about to give up. We will keep trying to the very end.

I think my men were anxious to win. Barcelona hardly had any chances on our goal during the first half, but their first strike played a key role. We should have been calmer and had more moments to pause and think.

This is an important defeat, but there are still 21 points at stake. We could have done more things tonight. Barcelona didn’t play at their usual level, but their first goal strengthened their game. I think we could have hurt them much more.

Real Madrid 0-2 Barcelona

Goals from Lionel Messi and Pedro Rodriguez in each halves of the game saw Barcelona snatch the pole position in La Liga from the grasps of Real Madrid. Real Madrid were not outclassed as the press portrays it but were beaten comprehensively and what is more worrying is the fact that Real went down without putting much of a fight. Its advantage Barcelona now as they lead Real both on points as well as head-to-head. With seven games to go only a major slip up from the Catalans coupled with seven victories for Real will see us no go trophy-less this season.

Real started the game making three changes to the team that started against Racing last week. Xabi Alonso, Sergio Ramos and Garay came in for Metzelder, Mahamadou Diarra and Esteban Granero. We started the game well as we won a corner in the very first minute after a good run from Marcelo playing in left midfield. Early in the game we refused to let Barça settle down but eventually that changed and they played with a high line of defense. Real took the ball away from Messi as soon as he got it ergo preventing him from beating players. But that too did not last long as in the twelfth minute as Messi’s run inside the box was stopped by Albiol is somewhat a rough challenge. The initial reaction was that it was a foul but the referee had a very good view of the tackle and replays insisted that Messi too didn’t have control of the ball.

Real Madrid were inconsistent when it came to holding possession at least in the first half. They held the ball in very small spells thus not having the time to materialize anything in attack. Both sides did not have too many chances in the first half an hour as there were fouls all around the pitch from both sides. And one of those led to the first goal. Messi was fouled by Sergio Ramos in the right wing. The resulting free kick was taken quickly by Messi who exchanged a pass with Pedro before playing a clever one two with Xavi with the latter putting Messi clean through on goal ahead of the Madrid defense. Albiol though got to him but was beaten and so was Casillas. Real Madrid 0 Barça 1.

I still had hope. It wasn’t the first time Real went down 1-0 at the Bernabéu this season in the league. It happened against Sevilla, Atlético and Sporting. We managed to comeback and win all those games. But that wasn’t to be the case here.

Throughout the first half Real were virtually playing with 10 men as Gonzalo Higuaín went AWOL and was no where to to be seen. His first action saw him control a long free kick from our own half after Pique miscued his header. But he lacked the composure to slot it past Valdes from an acute angle. A few minutes later he won the ball from a Barça corner. Real were on the break and Higuaín released Marcelo just near the half line. The Brazilian had a free run and just when he got close to their penalty area he screwed like a fuckin’ cunt losing the ball when he should’ve put CR9 through. And finally before the close of the half Cristiano did well to beat Puyol and cross the ball into their box but no one was there to tuck it in. This was the worst Higuaín has played for us since the Lyon game and it would be fair to say he was even worse than that game. We had 41% possession in the half and did not test Valdes throughout the half.

The second half wasn’t any better. Marcelo, our top assist man, had the first shot of the half but it was some I could’ve saved after Real finally crafted the kind of move we are used to see them create. Real deployed a high line of defense and Barcelona decided to sit on their lead for a while. But not for long.

With Guti set to enter the field, Xavi sent through Pedro after the youngster made a sneaky run behind Arbeloa and his shot from just outside/inside the box beat Casillas to end up in the back of the net. The players looked devastated. It was indeed a telling blow that came out of no where. Real Madrid 0 Barça 2.

Guti replaced Marcelo and his first contribution was a trademark dissecting pass that left Van der Vaart one-on-one with Valdes. His low shot was a cake for the keeper. It was the best chance of the match for us. And it somewhat summed up the kind of day we had on the pitch. We didn’t do what they did and that is take the chances gifted to us. It was then that we had a few more chances to score. Ronaldo used his pace to get into the same position from which he scored against Lyon but was denied by Valdes. His free kick and Guti’s shot too were saved by their keeper. All were very simple saves. We just couldn’t test him on the night. But it wasn’t so on the other end.

In the 72nd minute Lionel Messi did well to get into a position from which he would’ve scored against other keeper in the World but St.Iker isn’t any other keeper is he? That wasn’t all. Man of the Match Xavi Hernandez’s exquisite through ball sent Messi through our defense again and his shot was incredibly saved by Casillas. Any other keeper the score would’ve now been Real Madrid 0 Barcelona 4. Thankfully it wasn’t.

Raúl came on for Van der Vaart and Benzema made his much awaited return to the field to replace Higuaín. The Argentine went out to constant booing and whistles from our fans and I must say he deserved it for his performance last night. As Real still were looking for a goal the crowd started walking towards the exits.

But then the miracle happened. Or so we thought. Puyol scrambled the ball inside the six-yard box after Benzema’s attempt to head it in. The ball fell to El Siete and he smacked it into the net. The comeback was on was the initial reaction but the goal was disallowed. Replays suggested that Benzema had handled the ball even before Puyol controlled it. And that was the last action of the game.

Right now I am not really willing to discuss the consequences of the game or the game itself any further. We did not play to our full potential even though we are capable of so much more. We looked totally out of sorts and they didn’t. Did the pressure get to us? Possible. But we are dealing with professionals who have dealt with these situations before and thus it isn’t a reason at all. Anyways more on the game later.

Real Madrid vs Barcelona | Spanish Primera Division | Round 31 | Preview

The Clasico has arrived. Real Madrid and Barcelona will come face to face at the Bernabeu tonight at 22:00 CET in the most highly anticipated match of the season.

The best game in the world

Real Madrid have won all of their 15 games at the Bernabeu this year in La Liga, fact that was stressed by several players throughout the week. “Real Madrid are always favourites at the stadium,” said Guti. The Whites have won 12 straight games and trust the incredible scoring skills of Cristiano Ronaldo (18 goals) and Higuain (24) will help them win the most important match in the world.

Everyone knows the fixture won’t be decisive because seven games will still remain in the championship once it’s over, but winning the Clasico certainly would mean taking a great step towards winning the title. The leadership will be at stake tonight and Real Madrid know that they’ve never failed at home thanks to the support of their fans.

In your face Barça!

Barça, Barça, Barça… How weird does that sound?

Today’s post is dedicated to FC Barcelona and all the defenders it has in the infirmary.NOT. Who gives a crap about them anyways?

Today’s post is totally dedicated solely FC Barcelona and the monotonous football that it plays. NOT. I don’t give a crap about it either.

OK. Before you get ready to beat me up let me get started. Today’s post is just like anyother day. We start with a joke. We go on to serious affairs where I’d just loot a few lines from here and there and decorate it using a few quotes etc before finally I tell you who has and who has not been training.

Before you ask me I assure you that this post is totally not about Giovanni Trapattoni and the vacant Nigeria post.

First part of the post will be a game of True or False.

Statement 1. Cristiano Ronaldo rejected a move to Barcelona in order to join Real Madrid.

False. Barça can’t afford him. That is why they went for Ibracunt – the poor man’s Ronaldo.

Statement 2. Real would have been pipped to the post for Ronaldo’s signature had the player not had such a strong desire to move to the Bernabeu.

False. He wouldn’t have gone anywhere.

Statement 3. Both the club and player accepted a clause which would have ensured a €30 million fine had either of them pulled out of the deal.

False again. This rumor had been denied several million times by every party involved.

The trash talk continues

The Clasico saw us play our hearts out and even take the game to the mighty Barcelona side and if it wasn’t for the offside goal that Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored or the numerous saves that Carles Puyol did and of course the Ronaldo miss we would be sailing on top of the table. But since it is me who says If my aunt had been a man I’d have called her my uncle. There are no ifs nor buts here. We lost a game which we would’ve won if it wasn’t for the crucial factor called luck.

Anyhoo moving on, the trash talk still hasn’t stopped. There was a lot of talking going on prior to the match like always and now its time for some post-match trash talk.

Dani Alves has said that the cules’ victory in El Clasico was a “great win” and also joked that Cristiano Ronaldo was a little short of his 10 or 20 goal target. Ronaldo had joked midweek that he would like to score 10 or 20 goals against the champions in El Clasico and Alves countered in kind after his side emerged as winners. According to AS:

It’s great to win and also reclaim the lead. They [Madrid] didn’t take their chances and we did. In these games we don’t care how we win as long as we win. Cristiano Ronaldo? After much time out it is normal that he was a little lacking in rhythm in the game. He had their best chance in the first half but failed. It’s a little short of his desire to score 10 or 20 goals.

Andes ‘Casper’ Iniesta was apparently left incensed after Ronaldo told him to stop diving during El Clasico. The midfielder fell to the ground rather easily twice in the first half with the second time meriting a response from CR9.

Post-match comments

Real Madrid Director General, Jorge Valdano offered his thoughts on the hard-fought match that saw the Whites come up just short. Manuel Pellegrini couldn’t hide his disappointment stemming from the final score, but he was pleased with his team’s effort. Xabi Alonso and Iker Casillas believe the team deserved more from the football put on display in the Camp Nou. Albiol, Sergio Ramos and Marcelo analyzed the Clasico in the Camp Nou after the match.

Valdano:

It was an intense match and we had control during most of it, but the scoreboard reflects otherwise and it is a little unfair. We are pleased with our players’ composure but disappointed with the outcome. Matches like this one are good to see just where we stand.

From our standpoint, we feel like we are making good progress. Teams are measured by their behavior.

Cristiano wasn’t in good enough shape to play the entire match. We didn’t know whether to start him or not, but the doctor said he could only play for an hour. He was more worried about his lungs than his ankle because he needs to get back into a rhythm that he lost from being out for so long.

Pellegrini:

I am evidently not very satisfied. I never enjoy losing, but I am pleased with the way we played. We had possession and knew what we wanted to do in attack. We had many chances, but we weren’t patient enough when it came time to finish. Unfortunately the match came down to one single play.

We know how Barcelona like to play. They want to hold onto the ball, but they were up against a Real Madrid that was better than them in many facets of the game. I think we at least deserved a draw. We had more chances than they did, especially in the first half. They scored in the second half, but we also had our opportunities.

I don’t think the team every deflated. We were very physical, which is why Barcelona had trouble when they had the ball. What happened towards the end was a result of us not finishing the way we should have and relying on long balls to attack in a more direct manner.

Cristiano Ronaldo could only play a maximum of 60 minutes. Had he played more would have been rash. I think he played all he could and that we made the right changes. Regarding Higuain and Benzema, both had the chance to help the team. Pipa started because he has been in great form of late.

Barcelona 1-0 Real Madrid

Real Madrid can leave the Camp Nou with their heads held high after a near perfect performance that lacked but one crucial element, a goal. The Madridistas kept their lines tight, played in an orderly fashion and kept the ball moving vertically towards Victor Valdes’ box. Cristiano Ronaldo, Higuain and Benzema had the best scoring opportunities of the night, but the only player to find the back of the net was Ibrahimovic, who returned the top spot in La Liga to Barcelona.

Marcelo had the first attempt following a cross by Cristiano Ronaldo (6’). Barcelona responded with an individual play by Messi. The Argentine then passed to Henry, who sent the ball straight into Casillas’ hands (8’). Xavi also had a go from a distance but the shot sailed over the crossbar. Real Madrid then enjoyed their best football of the first half. Only three touches were needed to reach Barcelona’s box every time they stole the ball, and Valdes quickly became the busiest player of the pitch.

Cristiano Ronaldo nearly struck gold following a sensational play by Kaka, but Valdes made a magical save with his feet (19’). Real Madrid continued to press forward and the defense remained steadfast. The first half drew to a close after Casillas cleared to corner a cross by Henry (36’), then saved a shot by Iniesta  (37’) and a weak strike by Marcelo that Valdes had no trouble stopping.

Real Madrid were just as forgiving in the second half. A Barcelona corner kick turned into a fast counterattack by Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese passed to Higuain, who after escaping from Abidal, found nothing but Puyol’s body (52’). Three minutes later, Alves curled a brilliant ball into the Madridista box where Ibrahimovic slipped behind the defense and redirected the ball into the back of Casillas’ net. The hosts were then left with ten men after Busquets was booked for the second time.

Guardiola sat Keyta in place of Toure and Pellegrini swapped Cristiano Ronaldo and Arbeloa for Benzema and Raul. The game was still neck and neck. Pique came close with a header (68’), Abidal’s low shot was just wide of the far post (75’), Ramos headered a corner out of play (77’) and Benzema sent a ball into the stands (80’). Just as regulation time was about to expire, and after Lass was sent off for a second booking, Casillas got the better of Messi in a one-on-one matchup.

Lineups:

Real Madrid: Casillas, Sergio Ramos, Pepe, Albiol, Arbeloa (Raúl 75′), Lass, Xabi Alonso, Higuaín, Kaká, Marcelo, Cristiano Ronaldo (Benzema 67′);

Barcelona: Valdés, Alves, Piqué, Puyol, Abidal, Busquets, Xavi, Keita (Touré Yaya 67′), Messi, Iniesta, Henry (Ibrahimovic 52′);

Goals:

1-0, 57′: Ibrahimovic;

Referee: Mr. Undiano Mallenco;

Booked: Arbeloa, Pepe, Albiol, Marcelo, Lass, Sergio Busquets;

Sent off: Sergi Busquets (62′) and Lass (90′);

Notes: Week 12 of La Liga.

Played at: Camp Nou.

Barcelona vs Real Madrid | Spanish Primera Division | Round 12 | Preview

There is more than just three points at stake on Sunday when Barcelona host Real Madrid in the first Clasico of the season. Also in play is the top spot on La Liga, which the Whites currently hold but by the narrowest of margins. A victory will by no means determine the outcome of the competition, but it would serve as a big morale boost as the season rolls on.

It’s the start of an intense week for both teams, who in nine days will have three matches to play. Real Madrid took control of the league table last Saturday by defeating Racing Santander 1-0 at the Bernabeu. Four days later, the Whites found themselves in the driver’s seat of Group C in the Champions League after beating Zurich. The stretch of matches now passes through the Camp Nou, where Real Madrid hope to earn three points, maintain the top spot in the table and distance themselves even further from their closest pursuer with another three league matches to play before the Christmas stoppage.

The Whites made the trip to Barcelona with Cristiano Ronaldo in tow. After playing the last  20 minutes of Zurich match on Wednesday, the Portuguese international made his first league squad list in 59 days after falling injured against Olympique de Marseille. Raul Albiol was also included on the roster despite dealing with an injured right knee, but whether he plays or not will be a game time decision.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Leo Messi are also available for the Clasico, but it still isn’t known whether either or both will be among Barcelona’s starting eleven. “We will see how they feel and talk to the doctors,” said Pep Guardiola during his pre-match press conference. On the positive end, it’s the first time all season that the Catalan coach has all 21 players available, meaning that on Sunday three will have to be scratched from the roster.

Real Madrid and Barcelona have met on 158 occasions with the Whites holding a narrow advantage of 68 wins, 30 draws and 60 defeats. Real Madrid also hold the upper hand in terms of the number of goals scored, 262 compared to Barcelona’s 243.

Albiol on squad list

Nineteen men will make the trip to Barcelona for Sunday’s Clasico, among the Raul Albiol, who was injured earlier this week against Zurich. Guti, Metzelder and Van Nistelrooy are unavailable due to injury.

SQUAD LIST:

Goalkeeper: Casillas, Dudek.
Defenders: Arbeloa, Pepe, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, Albiol, Garay.
Midfielders: Diarra, Kaka, Lass, Drenthe, Xabi Alonso, Granero, Van der Vaart.
Forwards: Raul, Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo, Higuain.

INJURY REPORT

Guti: Bruised left quadriceps. Medical treatment and physiotherapy. Gym and field work.
Van Nistelrooy: Strained left triceps surae. Medical treatment and physiotherapy. Gym and field work.
Metzelder: Bruised right hamstring. Medical treatment and physiotherapy. Gym and field work.

Numero Uno: Top of the table before the Clasico!

Real Madrid reached the top of the La Liga table after a narrow 1-o win against Racing at home on a day which saw La Liga leaders Barca slip up at San Mames against Athletic Bilbao. And to add to the good news Lionel Messi went out injured and is set to miss the Inter clash midweek, a game that might see Barca knocked out of the Champions League if all goes well, and is a doubt for the weekend’s Clasico. And not only that Barca are already suffering from three Swine Flu infected cases with the likes of Rafael Marquez, Toure Yaya and Eric Abidal down with the H1N1 virus. Ibrahimovic missed the Bilbao game but will mostly be ready for both their games this week.

Valdano suggested that Cristiano Ronaldo might play a few minutes against Zurich and that he has to get some match practice in order to be able to play next week. Sergio Ramos and Raul Albiol will definitely make it next week and so will Lass who I heard was just out because of fatigue.

So that is a lot of good news. Top of the table. Opponents hit by Swine Flu and their second best player (Xavi is their best player) is a doubt for the clash. We almost have a full squad to choose from. Thinking about it, it was just the reversal last time around. We traveled with 13 fit players and had just brought in Juande Ramos. Palanca started.

Well, payback is a bitch!

Woooooooo!

Para Siempre Blanco!

Hala Madrid!!

Casillas on the verge of a century as the football world mourns the loss of Robert Enke

Robert Enke (3)

The world of football is today mourning the death of German international goalkeeper Robert Enke, who was hit by a train on Tuesday evening near his home at Neustadt am Rubenberge in Lower Saxony. A statement confirming the 32-year-old’s passing was announced by police just hours after the tragedy occurred.

Enke played for Germany eight times in his career, including five qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup South Africa 2010. In addition to the Bundesliga, where he played for Hannover 96 and Borussia Monchengladbach, Enke also had spells abroad with Benfica, Barcelona, Fenerbache and Tenerife, among others.

Enke, who had been suffering from depression, had only recently recovered a mysterious bacterial infection and had been omitted from the squad for their upcoming friendlies against Chile and the Ivory Coast next Wednesday. The German Football Association (DFB) has announced that the friendly with Chile on Saturday has been called off following the incident.

At the Camp Nou, Barça held a minute’s silence in his memory on Tuesday night before their Copa del Rey match against third-tier Cultural Leonesa. Wearing black armbands, the players stood with heads bowed as classical music played in the background.

RIP Robert Enke.

Our own custodian, Iker Casillas, though is on the verge of earning is 100th cap for Spain, which he attributes to the performance of Real Madrid. He spoke to the press ahead of Spain’s friendly against Argentina.

The 5-0 win, Martin Petrov, Robbie Blake and Negredo. B E A utiful!

You know what? It was just a beautiful night of football. If this season is going to be anything like this then I am just going to enjoy it so much. I’m sure we all will enjoy it so much. Pheeew!

First came the beautifully crafted 5-0 away win which is definitely not the easiest of tasks. Secondly, Barca lost the Joan Gamper Trophy to Manchester City through a Martin Petrov goal. Then Man United lose to Burnley after Robbie Blake scored a screamer and Michael Carrick missed a penalty (which Ronaldo would’ve scored if not for us). And finally Alvaro Negredo rejected a move to Hull City. Maybe it was the 5-1 throttling at the hands of Spurs??

Muwahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Muwhahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!

Para Siempre Blanco!

Hala Madrid!!

Oh you beauty! ft. David Beckham

We say this for a reason: Once a Madridista, always a Madridista! Just have a look at this.

There is only one David Beckham, only one David Beckham!

LOL!

I don’t know how they do it. I really don’t. Every single time I start to take Barcelona as serious contenders for second place they seem to slap right across my cheek and bring me back to what you call reality! This time its no different.

After looking back at the  nightmare of a season that it was last time out with Barca winning everything in sight I was saying to myself.. ‘OK.. Somebody has screwed up the usually screwed up Barcelona. Its time to take them seriously‘. And just as the letter y of seriously flew past my mind I read about the news that Barcelona are willing to let go of their entire roster plus their bus driver, not to forget the bus itself, to get a cunt in Zlatan Ibrahimovic. I couldn’t believe it. Infact I didn’t. I thought it was just impossible to be that stupid. I was sure that even Robinho had better brains than that. But it was true. It was possible. I first checked if Zlatan was really going to Barca and it was true. I then checked the definition of stupidity and it was Barcelona after all. Barca had really given away their entire squad as a part of the trade. It became evident after seeing their line up for the Wembley Cup clash against  Sp*rs. They had twenty two new players (Well I really don’t know whether they are really new because I would have said the same thing if they had used their old players from last season) and they let a guy named Livermore equalize.

Jake Livermore (1)

Liverwhat?

Samuel Eto’o, a former Madridista, nevertheless a money grabbing cunt seems to be the biggest winner of them all. He gets more money for himself and he brings Zlatan Ibrahimovic to the club he hates so much. Double delight I should say! But seriously who would want to trade the Golden Boot winner for a Swede who hasn’t scored a single goal in the knock-out stages of the Champions League?

Lol!

Hala Madrid!!

P.S: If at all you are bothered about Ibra performing against Real, don’t break a sweat, during his glittering spell  at Inter Zlatan has never scored against city rivals AC Milan.

World Champions! Hala Madrid!

Real Madrid’s Under-18 C players became world champions by defeating Barcelona 2-1 in the final of the Under-18 World Club Championship. Barça scored the opening goal, but the Whites came back with strikes by Carvajal and Sarabia all in the first half. No further goals were scored after the break as Madrid’s Juvenil B side, coached by Juan Vicente Peinado, were crowned the sub-18 world club champions.

World Champions (1)

They become the first Spanish side to win the accolade, after Boca Juniors and Sao Paulo had swept the previous four titles. The tournament, which was held across the city of Madrid, included a number of other clubs around the world such as Atletico Madrid, Corinthians, Werder Bremen, Dynamo Kyiv, Beijing Guian, Real Salt Lake as well as Boca and Sao Paulo.

Hala Madrid!!

Barça is bumming me out!

FC Barcelona, the cheapest club to have ever graced Spanish and World football, is just proving why it is the dirtiest and the most bawdy club in the world. Hahaha. It is funny when you actually see what they are doing here.

First it was Joan Laporta, the chief of the angry mob of culigans who opened  his mouth over the whole ‘I am too scared that Real are spending so much on their squad; what if they whip my pussy all over Spain‘ issue. While speaking to some random reprter on the streets of Barcelona he has apparently said:

It’s an opportunity to try to show that the market is at different levels. To pay these quantities is exorbitant. It doesn’t fit in with the reality of the market and it’s too risky. It’s distorting it.

If their chief is such a wuss then just imagine what their probably jobless finance director would be like. Xavier Sala i Martin, their financial director, is bewildered as to how Real Madrid are funding their summer spending spree. How the hell did he become the financial director? What kind of a reaction is that?!? Hahaha. How more substandard can their comments get? He told Radio Station RAC1:

I don’t know where the 300million euros that Florentino Perez expects to invest on signings are coming from. He says he will recover that money by selling shirts but, in order to do that, he will have to sell 30million shirts. That is impossible.

Was that a try at humor or is he really that thrid rated?

Sala i Martin is stunned it seems that Madrid are able to spend so much money in such a difficult economic climate. Fuck off bastard I’d say! He added:

I guess someone will have to give him that money and it would be good for him to explain where it will come from. How can it be that a football team is loaned so much money, considering the current financial crisis in the country and the policy of restricting credits that banks are currently following? I can assure you that we will not pay 65million euros for a player. For that amount we would buy the whole Barcelona team that won the Champions League in Rome.

Is it possible to behave cheaper? He beats Alex Ferguson hands down. And hell this guy isn’t even senile!

Where Are They Now: Luís Figo

Luís Filipe Madeira Caeiro Figo (born 4 November 1972 in Almada) is a former Portuguese footballer who played as a midfielder for Real Madrid between 2000 and 2005. He also played for other European giants like Sporting Clube de Portugal, FC Barcelona and Internazionale during a career which spans over 20 years. He retired on 31 May 2009. He won 127 caps for the Portuguese national football team.

Luís Figo (4)

Luís Figo started his career at Sporting Clube de Portugal. He won his first senior international cap in 1991. Prior to that, he won the Under-20 World Championships and Under-16 European Championships with Portugal junior sides, alongside Rui Costa, João Vieira Pinto and he was also a significant part of Portugal’s “Golden Generation”. In 1995, Figo looked poised to join one of the big clubs of Europe, but a dispute between Italian clubs Juventus and Parma, with Figo having signed contracts with both clubs, resulted in an Italian two-year transfer ban on Figo, effectively stopping any moves to Italy. However, the situation was eventually resolved for Figo, with a move to Spanish club FC Barcelona for a £2.25 million fee, under Dutch coach Johan Cruyff. It was with Barcelona from 1995 that his career really took off: Figo won a UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup in 1996–97, successive Primera División titles and went on to appear 172 times for the Blaugrana, scoring 30 goals.

Luís Figo (1)

In 2000, Figo made a hugely controversial move to Barcelona’s bitter rivals Real Madrid for a world record fee. The fee was quoted between £38m and £53m. Many Barcelona fans felt betrayed by his transfer and turned against him, despite Figo having many years of success with Barcelona and having been a fan favourite for over five years. When he returned two seasons later in the semi-final of the 2001-02 Champions League, he got a heated reception from the crowd and many started throwing objects at him as he took corners and throw-ins, including a pig’s head, which resulted in FC Barcelona incurring a fine.

Figo left Real Madrid to join Internazionale in the summer of 2005 on a free transfer after his contract with Real Madrid had expired. This meant that Figo would finally be able to play for a club in Italy, something he had the chance to do before his move to FC Barcelona. During the summer of 2008, Figo’s compatriot José Mourinho joined Inter on a managerial level. This has been said to please Figo, as he would have several Portuguese teammates during the remainder of his stay at Inter.

On 16 May 2009, Figo announced his retirement from football, the same day Internazionale won the 2008-09 Serie A, and re-confirmed this on the 30 May; his final game was on the 31 May against Atalanta at the San Siro.

Luís Figo (2)

Once a Cunt Always a Cunt ft. Luis Enrique Martínez García

We all know who cunts are.  There are several in the world right now. What we also know is that the moment someone turns out to be a cunt then such a someone will always remain a cunt no matter what happens. We’re going to see about one such cunt in…

Luis Enrique Martínez García

Luis Enrique Martínez García (born May 8, 1970 in Gijón, Asturias), known as Luis ‘el coño’ Enrique, is a former Spanish international cunt. His usual position was right or attacking midfielder where he was unequivocally harmless, but he was notable for his good-for-nothing character, having played in all positions throughout his career except central defenderand goalkeeper only because if he had played there then even my grandma would have scored three and made two.

After starting his career with Sporting de Gijón, Luis Enrique spent most of it with the two biggest Spanish clubs: first Real Madrid for five seasons where he was picked for humanitarian reasons and, in a stunning move which proved the cunt-stein law that once a cunt always a cunt, he saw out his contract and moved to FC Barcelona on a free transfer. The Catalan club’s supporters were at first understandably hesitant about their new acquisition contemplating whether he was a true cunt or a fake one as he was from Real Madrid of all teams, but he soon won the culés heart, staying eight years amongst pure cunts, and even becoming first-team captain.

On August 10, 2004, at the age of 34, he announced his retirement, feeling that he could no longer keep up to the standards he set for himself. His career as an active cunt was over as he thought he was no longer fit enough to be a cunt.

In June 18, 2008, Enrique returned to Barcelona, taking over the reins of FC Barcelona B, which was renamed FC Barcelona Atlètic Cunts for 2008-09. He stated:

I have come (to the) home (of cunts), I finished playing (and became a professional cunt) here and now I will start coaching (the upcoming young cunts) here.

Vete a la mierda coño!

Hala Madrid!!

P.S: The title should have been Where Are They Now: Luis Enrique Martínez García, but hell I don’t give a crap about where he is now!
